With a few simple tricks, we will turn a leather or suede skirt into a great shoulder bag. It will use the
skirt's lining to line the bag, so you won't even need to buy fabric. This requires a moderate amount of
machine skill, and a machine with enough power to sew heavy layers.

This fashion cami will teach you how to handle silky fabrics. It is also an opportunity to learn how to
sew on trims. An invisible zipper will be the focus for techniques in this project.

Artiste Sweater

Take a plain sweater and give it a vintage feel. Add trims as only a Parisian seamstress would. This is
not your average crafter sweater, but a special fashion accessory to wear all year.


Denim Jeans
4 x 2.5 hours $150
Working from a size 8 sample pattern, a pair of jeans will be developed. Industrial techniques in zipper
applications, as well as pocket design will be learned. The sewing machine used should have sufficient
power to sew denim layers. Size alterations will be at the student's own discretion. An overview of
pant alterations will be discussed.

A true fit pants pattern will be developed by each student, working from their own measurements.
Students will work in teams to take measurements and perform fittings.
The final pant block will be useable in various pant styles.

We will make a dress from the Burda pattern site online. We will learn to sew in a zipper, sleeve, and
facing in the neckline. We will also learn to hand sew the hem.

Personal Fit by the hour $50
Have a professional help you develop and fit your pattern. By creating a muslin fit garment, you will
learn to develop your own patterns. This is a one-on-one project with time arranged between you and
your tutor. Together you will determine how much help you need.
