Pintucks is easily reached from any So Cal location. The I-134 freeway is just north of Foothill Blvd., with "Sierra Madre" , "Altadena Drive" and "San Gabriel Blvd." offramps being ideal. Because PINTUCKS is located on a busy street, you may need to circle the block first to find the shop before locating a parking space. METRO: The shop is .9 miles from the Allen Station of the Gold Line. The Metro bus #177 stops only feet from our door, at Walnut Ave. and Sierra Madre Blvd. This small bus line runs between both Allen and Madre Gold Line stations. Refer to our blog for more details on our special service for Gold Line riders. FREEWAY: From points West (Glendale, Burbank) Take I-134 EAST to the "Sierra Madre Blvd./ Altadena Dr." At the end of the offramp, (Altadena Dr.)turn RIGHT At the 1st light (Sierra Madre Blvd.) turn RIGHT Take Sierra Madre SOUTH, after the 1st light (Foothill), go 1 block south to Vista Ave. (a tiny street), turn RIGHT Take Vista around the curve to the right, at the first street "Foothill" turn RIGHT The shop will be on your RIGHT. From points East (Arcadia, Monrovia) Take the "San Gabriel"/"Sierra Madre Blvd. offramp. This becomes a street called: Maple. Stay on Maple, keep in the right hand lanes, and DO NOT turn left Go straight though the big San Gabriel/Sierra Madre Blvd. intersection. At the following intersection (Altadena Dr.), turn LEFT Drive SOUTH, going under the freeway. At the 2nd light (Sierra Madre Blvd.) turn RIGHT. Take Sierra Madre SOUTH, after the 1st light (Foothill), go 1 block south to Vista Ave. (a tiny street), turn RIGHT Take Vista around the curve to the right, at the first street "Foothill" turn RIGHT The shop will be on your RIGHT. SURFACE STREETS: From points West Drive Foothill, past the intersection of Craig (just after In-and-Out), keep driving past Marie Callenders. It will be on the right, at the bend in the street, just before the Sierra Madre Blvd. intersection. From points East Drive Foothill to Sierra Madre Blvd. turn LEFT Take Sierra Madre SOUTH, 1 block to Vista Ave. (a tiny street), turn RIGHT Take Vista around the curve to the right, at the first street "Foothill" turn RIGHT The shop will be on your RIGHT. From points South Drive Sierra Madre NORTH to VISTA, this is a tiny street, just after passing the old train tracks north of Walnut. Turn LEFT on to Vista. FOOD When you come to our neighborhood, there are many fun places to eat. We like the following : Zephers: 2419 E. Colorado Blvd., E. of Sierra Madre intersection. A café located in an old Bunglaow, with inside and patio dining. They specialize in pannini and crepes. Sushi Ya: 2525 E. Foothill, at Altadena Dr., in a mini-mall. Very cozy, tiny spot. Pasadena Sandwich Company: 259 Sierra Madre Villa, phone: 626-578-1616. Hours: closes in the mid-afternoon. Located across the street from Bed/Bath/Beyond, just north of Foothill, about 1 mile east of the shop. This has the most awesome sandwiches anywhere, and they are big enough for two! Fuji Japanese Restaurant: 2879 E. Colorado Blvd. More sushi, also some Korean, and Udon. Located about ˝ mile to the east of Sierra Madre Blvd. on the north side of the street (across from the Colonel). Pataya Café: 1525 E. Colorado Blvd. Across the street from Pasadena City College. About 1 mile west of Sierra Madre Blvd. This is a small thai café will all of the favorites. More VINTAGE Colorado Blvd., and Sierra Madre Blvd.- Along Colorado Blvd, in the blocks just east of Sierra Madre Blvd. are several Antique and Mid-Century modern shops. This district extends to just past Altadena Dr. Aardvarks: 1253 E. Colorado Blvd. 2 blocks west of Hill Ave. This has tons of selected items arranged by category, which is great if you are looking for something specific. More SEWING Pasadena Sewing and Vacuum: 1244 E. Colorado Blvd. Located about 3 blocks west of Hill Ave. This small shop sells new machines, along with repair work. Pollard's Sew Creative: 780 #300, S. Arroyo Parkway. This is hidden in a deep lot. It specializes in embroidery machines and is a good place to find a new Pfaff machine. |
